How the Calculation Works

Each cheese in the database has nutrition values per 100 grams. The calculator scales those values by your portion: portion in grams ÷ 100 gives the scaling factor, then multiplies calories, protein, fat, and carbs by that factor. The calorie breakdown shows how the total is derived from macronutrients using the standard Atwater factors: protein provides 4 kcal per gram, carbohydrates provide 4 kcal per gram, and fat provides 9 kcal per gram.
